The wines from Correlation Wine Company are first and foremost reflections of our passion, our experience, and ultimately founded upon the relationships we’ve made since our family first arrived in the Napa Valley in 1999. We strive to craft wines with impeccable quality and approachability, showcasing new expressions outside of our Steffens Family estate on Spring Mountain. These “Correlations” are the backbone of our wines.

2018 Correlation Cabernet Sauvignon

The 2018 Correlation Wine Company Cabernet Sauvignon comes from a vintage that will go down as one of the great vintages in Napa Valley history. A year marked by long hang-time in the vineyard, and phenomenal phenolic development, leading to wines that show beautifully upon release while maintaining the tension and structure to go the distance for two or more decades in the cellar.

Our 2018 is a blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, and 2% Cabernet Franc. The fruit for this vintage is 100% sourced from the top of Spring Mountain, predominantly from the Atchley Vineyard which is directly neighboring the Vineyard 7 & 8 Estate.

The wine shows a beautiful balance of power, and fineness, with explosive aromatics highlighted by black cherry, anise, cocoa and espresso, with notes of graphite and spice. On the palate, the lush fruit leads to fine-grain, well polished tannins, bright acidity, and awesome tension. The mid-palate envelopes the senses and carries to a very long, structured finish.

Our fifth vintage offering from Correlation, quite possibly our finest effort to date. Our winemaking team, led by Martha McClellan and Wesley Steffens, is once again extremely proud to share this Correlation with you!
